On behalf of the Winchendon Fire Department I would like to thank you for visiting our newly designed website. It is our department’s hope that you find it both informative and engaging.
The Winchendon Fire Department is a combination department with eleven Full-time members and twenty-seven Call members. These dedicated individuals spend countless hours training and preparing to provide the citizens of Winchendon, as well as visitors, with the best possible public safety available.
In April of 2012 I became Fire Chief for “Toy Town”. Little did I know at that time I would see incredible growth not only in the department size and call volume but also in the progressive nature of the department. Over the years our department has been privileged to have a community that overwhelmingly supports the fire department. We have seen this support through staffing increases, new apparatus and currently through the support to move forward in an effort to conduct a fire station remodel and addition. As a result of this support the members have not hesitated to put community first, not only on a day to day basis but also through a pandemic that saw everything we knew of the fire service turned upside down.
